WCTNZ TAB: RV / Mobile Dry Toilet System / ELV
System Operation Notice

Understanding Your System: Mobile Hardware + Biological Process

Notice for Vehicle Owners:
This unit is a fixed biological sanitation processor, not a portable toilet. While WCTNZ® provides high-performance mobile hardware, the effectiveness of the system depends on correct installation, user management, and maintaining proper ventilation in a mobile environment.
User Responsibility:
Odour-managed operation in vehicles requires the owner or operator to maintain dry-venting protocols, correct carbon-loading, moisture balance, airflow, servicing intervals, and rated use levels.
Performance:
WCTNZ® warranties cover the structural and mechanical integrity of the supplied hardware and manufactured components. Warranties do not cover system failure caused by unsuitable vehicle installation, poor ventilation, improper power supply, biological overload, incorrect use, or failure to follow mobile maintenance protocols.
Expert Support:
User Knowledge = System Success. By purchasing this system, you acknowledge that you are the operator of a vehicle-based waste management system and are responsible for its ongoing biological health and correct operation.
Technical and Legal Framework

Technical Classification

Fixture Type:
This unit is supplied as a fixed mobile sanitation fixture for RV, caravan, tiny house, marine, and transportable building applications. For NZ Self-Containment certification pathways and related regulations, installation may need to be permanently fixed to the vehicle or structure and usable within the vehicle.
Self-Containment Context:
Mobile sanitation installations must be assessed against the applicable self-containment rules, vehicle layout, wastewater storage, ventilation, fixing method, and certifier requirements. Requirements may vary between RVs, caravans, tiny homes, transportable buildings, and marine applications.
Electrical Safety:
Integrated components are generally classified as Low Risk or Extra-Low Voltage (ELV), depending on the model and voltage. ELV and low-voltage systems remain subject to the essential safety requirements of the New Zealand Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 and AS/NZS 3820 where applicable.
Certification:
These systems comply with essential safety requirements through recognised international compliance pathways and supporting technical documentation, including CE/UL certifications where applicable.
Installation:
Installation should be carried out or overseen by suitably qualified people to ensure safe fixing, ventilation, drainage/waste management, electrical supply, and compliance with applicable vehicle, building, marine, or self-containment requirements.

Power Supply Compatibility Notice

ELV Vehicle Power & Electrical Installation Notice

Extra-Low Voltage Systems:
Many mobile dry toilet systems use 12V or 24V DC powered components, such as ventilation fans. These are different from 230V–240V AC household supply systems and should be installed according to the product instructions and the requirements of the vehicle or site electrical system.
Vehicle Electrical Supply:
Correct operation depends on the customer’s vehicle or site power supply providing the correct voltage, polarity, fuse protection, cable sizing, connection quality, and safe operating conditions for the supplied components.
Independent Power Systems:
Where the vehicle or site uses solar, batteries, DC-DC chargers, battery management systems, generators, inverters, converters, or other independent electrical equipment, that electrical system remains separate from the sanitation product supplied by WCTNZ®.
Customer Responsibility:
WCTNZ® does not design, certify, or warrant third-party vehicle electrical systems, solar systems, battery systems, inverters, converters, chargers, or independent electrical installations unless expressly confirmed in writing. Customers should obtain compatibility and installation advice from their vehicle electrician, RV installer, marine electrician, solar installer, or electrical system designer before installation.
Product Role:
The toilet is supplied as a mobile dry toilet / sanitation system with powered components where applicable. The vehicle or site electrical supply remains a separate installation controlled by the owner and their appointed electrical professional.
