    Everyday applications

    Put recovered water to work

The most useful water-reuse projects match a regular source of greywater with a regular need for water. These applications can be included where the treatment, plumbing and property requirements are suitable.

    01 / TOILET FLUSHING

    Reuse water for toilet flushing

A dedicated treated-water supply can serve toilet cisterns, reducing the fresh water used for flushing. Storage, pressure delivery and protected backup are planned together.

    02 / LAUNDRY

Make more of your laundry water

Treated greywater can supply the cold-water inlet of suitable washing machines. Appliance compatibility and stored-water quality are checked as part of selection; industrial laundry and contaminated loads need separate assessment.

    03 / IRRIGATION

    Support your landscape

Recovered water can supply a suitably designed irrigation system. The field and pumping equipment are matched to the soil, slope and available land.

How much water could you reuse? Savings depend on the greywater collected and how consistently it can be used. WCTNZ® can help assess the opportunity, including what happens to water that is not needed.

    Your system package

A complete package, not just a treatment cabinet

The M800sx treats greywater and transfers it into an external treated-water tank. A separate pressure pump then supplies the selected toilets, washing machines or irrigation system.

WCTNZ® favours commercial-sized GreyFlow collection and filtration equipment to provide space for incoming peaks and returning process water. Tank capacity, filters and controlled feed are matched to the installation and confirmed against the equipment instructions.

We can prepare a quotation for the complete package, including collection, treatment, storage, controls and delivery equipment, with commissioning and servicing discussed alongside the supply.

    Greywater sources

    Collect the right water

Showers, baths, handbasins and ordinary laundry discharge can provide water for treatment. Kitchen sinks and dishwashers may also be included where the treatment loading and site design allow, with a correctly sized and maintained grease/solids trap before collection.

Toilet waste, toilet leachate, roof runoff and industrial process liquids remain separate, along with wastewater not selected for this system.

Your water use matters as much as the size of the property. We look at the connected fixtures, busy periods and cleaning practices when helping select the equipment.

    How it works

    From collection to reuse

Each stage has a different job. Together, they turn selected greywater into a resource for the uses planned at your property.

    1. Collect and filter

GreyFlow collection equipment screens out larger material and provides a buffer. The M800sx controller manages transfer into the treatment cabinet.

    2. Biological treatment

Greywater circulates through a trickle-bed bioreactor, where biological activity breaks down biodegradable material.

    3. Fine membrane filtration

Water passes through 0.025-micron ultrafiltration membranes, adding a physical barrier after biological treatment. Routine backwash returns to the primary buffer for further processing.

    4. UV disinfection

A 25 W ultraviolet unit disinfects the filtered water. The cabinet includes discharge protection for UV and pump-float faults, with downstream protection included in the installation.

    5. Store and deliver

Treated water moves from the cabinet into external storage. A separately selected pressure pump supplies the reuse outlets; the small cabinet pump performs the transfer, not the pressure supply.

    Treatment quality

    Advanced treatment for useful reuse

The M800sx combines advanced-secondary effluent quality with tertiary ultrafiltration and UV disinfection. The design specification below applies to water leaving the complete treatment process.

    M800sx final-water design specification

    BOD: below 10 mg/L
    TSS: below 10 mg/L
    E. coli: below 1 cfu/100 mL
    Turbidity: below 1 NTU

    More than biological treatment alone

Biological treatment reduces biodegradable material. Ultrafiltration adds fine physical separation, while UV provides a further disinfection step. These different processes work together rather than relying on a single treatment stage.

These are design specifications, not individual laboratory results. Our Treatment Quality & Approvals page explains the Level 1 reference, supporting evidence and how the required water quality is determined for an installation.

    Planning your installation

    Make room for easy access

The above-ground cabinet keeps treatment equipment accessible for servicing. Allow the listed working space around it, and keep collection lids, external storage and pumping equipment accessible too.

A suitable base, secure positioning and safe electrical access are part of the installation. Early planning helps fit the equipment around buildings, landscaping and other services, whether the work is new or a retrofit.

Collection, internal return flow, surplus water and service waste each have their own connections. Your installer plans these together so the system can be maintained without relying on temporary discharge arrangements.

Rainwater and drinking-water supplies remain separate from untreated and treated greywater. Any backup supply includes the required plumbing protection.

    Technical information

    Product evidence and project support

The M800sx holds NSW Health accreditation DGTS012 for single domestic premises under its stated conditions. Commercial installations and larger configurations need their own assessment and approvals.

WCTNZ® coordinates the product information your designer needs, including the supplied equipment, treatment specification and installation requirements. This keeps the technical assessment connected to the system being proposed.

    Care and servicing

    Plan for long-term care

Regular care helps protect the performance of the whole system. Agree who will check the equipment, who will service it and when visits are due before the installation is handed over. Existing M800sx owners can continue to access support for their equipment.

    M800sx care at a glance
Operator observationsWatch for alarms, leaks, unusual smells or noise, changed water levels and blocked service access. Follow the check frequency agreed for the site.
Primary collection and filtrationInspect filters and clean when required. Quarterly inspection is WCTNZ’s starting recommendation for the M800sx pairing; inspect earlier where needed. Tank solids and wash-out are included in servicing.
System serviceTrained, authorised personnel check the treatment stages, pumps, controls, return flow and waste removal. The visit scope is matched to the installation.
Membrane careClean six-monthly, or earlier when required, using the specified procedure and safety information.
UV and blowerReplace the UV lamp annually, with sleeve care during servicing. Clean the blower filter annually; follow any shorter component or site intervals.
Storage and pressure supplyInclude tank hygiene, turnover, pressure supply, backup and any irrigation equipment in the service plan.
RecordsKeep manuals, drawings, commissioning results, service reports, parts and waste records, water-quality results and ownership information together.

Keep the supplied instructions with the system. The WCTNZ supplement provides application guidance and records alongside the manufacturer’s installation, operating and servicing procedures.

    Common questions

What you may want to know

Could Aqua Clarus suit my commercial property?

The starting point is the greywater available and how you want to reuse it. The M800sx provides up to 800 litres per day of treated water under suitable conditions. Larger projects need a separately selected configuration, with capacity and approvals matched to the site. WCTNZ® can help assess the options.

What level of treatment does it provide?

The M800sx design specification combines advanced-secondary effluent quality with tertiary ultrafiltration and UV disinfection. The figures are shown above. Treated water is for selected non-drinking uses; the required quality and permitted uses are confirmed for the property.

Will I need a separate water tank and pump?

Yes. In the arrangement described here, the treatment cabinet transfers water to an external tank. A separate pressure pump supplies the toilets, washing-machine cold feed or irrigation. Tank size and pumping equipment are selected for the water available and the demand.

    What happens to backwash water?

Routine membrane backwash and excess process water return to the primary buffer in the described arrangement. Accumulated solids, tank wash-water and chemical-cleaning liquids are removed or discharged through the agreed servicing arrangements, not automatically through the treated-water irrigation field.

    Can kitchen wastewater be included?

Kitchen sink and dishwasher flows may be included where the system loading and site design allow. Their branch needs correctly sized and maintained grease/solids pretreatment. Commercial food-process waste requires separate assessment.

What happens during low use or a fault?

The M800sx has a holiday mode for normal absences longer than a week; the required power stays on. A full shutdown or fault needs separate restart checks. UV and pump-float protection stop cabinet discharge, while external storage and reuse delivery follow the fault instructions supplied at handover.

    Who looks after the system?

A nominated operator carries out routine checks, with trained and authorised people completing the agreed servicing. Any written owner-service permission applies only to its listed tasks. Restricted plumbing, drainlaying and electrical work remains with appropriately authorised practitioners.

How do I get a quote?

Tell us about the property, its water use and the applications you want to supply. A site plan or a few photographs will help start the discussion; include flow figures or design requirements where you already have them. We can then agree the equipment and any detailed consultation needed.
