Discover the warranty coverage for WCTNZ® building systems products. This page explains what may be covered, what is not covered, and how to make a warranty claim.
For composting toilet warranties, please see Composting Systems Warranties. For general product warranties, please see General Warranties.
Warranty protection applies by brand, model, building type, and component. Coverage is generally limited to defects in materials or workmanship during normal use, subject to the relevant manufacturer warranty period, installation requirements, foundation or fixing requirements, product manual, evidence supplied, and applicable law.
Nothing on this page excludes or limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under New Zealand law.
WCTNZ® building systems may involve site-specific foundation, fixing, anchoring, assembly, access, weather exposure, public-use, structural, and maintenance considerations.
Warranty cover may be affected if the building system is installed, altered, moved, fixed, maintained, or used outside the supplied instructions, project documentation, engineering information, or agreed conditions.
Where a project involves public use, commercial use, remote sites, wind exposure, corrosion risk, coastal conditions, or harsh environmental conditions, customers should ensure the selected building system, installation method, and maintenance pathway are suitable for the site.
The following items are generally not covered by warranty. Brand-specific and project-specific terms may include additional exclusions or requirements.
Damage from improper installation, misuse, or alterations
Faults due to external power supply incompatibility, including off-grid inverter issues
Normal wear and tear or consumables
Labour charges and parts for issues found unrelated to manufacturing defects
Labour charges for issues found within the warranty period unless expressly covered in writing
Freight, return shipping, delivery of replacement parts, or logistics costs unless otherwise stated
Damage caused by site movement, poor foundations, unauthorised relocation, unsuitable anchoring, excessive loads, vandalism, storm events, fire, flood, or other external causes unless expressly covered in writing

WCTNZ® is to furnish new parts to a customer whose product fails within the allotted warranty period for the particular component, provided that inspection shows that such failure is due to defective material or workmanship.
Any part supplied is warranted for the balance of the original warranty period based on the respective manufacturer’s warranty
All support information for warranty claims is to be supplied by the customer to WCTNZ® within 21 days of alerting WCTNZ® to the fault
The warranty period for a part begins from the date the original product was dispatched, plus 5 additional days for transportation
All faulty parts are to be returned to WCTNZ®; shipping of these is the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed
If a warranty replacement part is sent out and the original part is proven not to be faulty, the customer will be charged for the replacement part
WCTNZ® endeavours to hold replacement parts in stock to the best of our ability. If replacement parts are not available at the time of a warranty claim, the customer is responsible for covering all logistics costs from the point of origin

Limited warranties cover only specified parts or defects and operate subject to the relevant product requirements, installation requirements, operating manual, evidence supplied, WCTNZ®’s NZ warranty framework, and applicable New Zealand law.
These general terms apply where a product, brand, supplier, manufacturer document, quotation, invoice, or project schedule does not state a more specific warranty position.
Warranty support is generally limited to defects in materials or workmanship arising during normal intended use within the applicable warranty period stated on this page or in the relevant manufacturer, brand, supplier, quotation, invoice, or project document.
WCTNZ® may require proof of purchase, model information, SO/SN numbers, photographs, installation evidence, maintenance records, fault description, return authorisation, testing, inspection, or supplier/manufacturer review before approving warranty support.
Unless expressly stated in writing, warranty support does not include site labour, removal, dismantling, access work, reinstallation, recommissioning, tradesperson costs, travel, accommodation, excavation, building work, plumbing work, electrical work, freight, return shipping, or consequential project costs.
For trade, commercial, project, council, infrastructure, accommodation, rental, or other non-consumer supply, additional quote terms, project terms, trade terms, credit-account terms, or lawful CGA contracting-out provisions may apply where agreed in writing.
This framework applies except to the extent prohibited by New Zealand law.
