Domestic Greywater Treatment Systems (DGTS) are sized and configured for single homes and small dwellings. They take laundry, shower and basin water and treat it to a higher quality before discharge to a designed land-application system. Compared with simple diversion, DGTS units offer improved effluent quality and more flexibility in how and where greywater can be discharged when correctly designed and consented.
In some designs, DGTS systems may also be configured to accept kitchen wastewater, where this is permitted and accounted for in the overall treatment and land-application design.
