Principal system design

The DryLoo™ system is a desiccating dry toilet, relying purely on drying and evaporation to manage waste.

The system captures solar heat and utilizes natural wind currents to deliver a fully sealed, zero-discharge sanitation solution.

Liquids are diverted from solids, and aeration is used to evaporate moisture and dehydrate the solids, drastically shrinking their volume.

Bulking agent is not required in desiccating systems, maximizing holding capacity and cutting down on ongoing maintenance costs.

Evaporation and ventilation occur through a synergy of passive inlet vents, thermal updrafts and solar-heat.

A wind-powered vent atop the chimney creates a continuous draft, pulling air up the vent stack and out of the toilet room.

Fresh air is drawn in through the pedestal, keeping the room interior clean and odour-free.

The thermal chimney design boosts convection currents, speeding up air extraction and overall system performance.

Advanced features

The heavy-duty concrete tank resists buoyant uplift from high groundwater tables and retains thermal energy overnight to sustain continuous drying.

The ultra-grade Colourbond flue captures and radiates solar heat to boost drying performance within the chimney.

The SkyVent employs the venturi effect to sustain high-efficiency airflow and deliver continuous ventilation, and operates in all weather conditions.

The stainless-steel lift frame with the manual winch clutch streamlines the basket removal for safer, more ergonomic maintenance and improved workplace safety.

Optionally, DryLoo™ is available with liquid overflow into a treatment trench, where site conditions allow, expanding its holding capacity.

Desiccating toilets rely on warmth and airflow, so they excel in sunny, windy environments. In cooler or sheltered locations, optional fan-assisted ventilation and temperature-control modules ensure reliable drying.
