Manual filters: check/clean at least every 2 months and after renovation loads (lint/sediment spikes).
Self-cleaning (auto) filters: full service at least every 1–2 years; the system performs interim backflush cycles automatically.
Open the pit lid, remove filters and wash thoroughly in a bucket or garden hose (not connected to the greywater line). Inspect the pump and float switch; hose the tank; re-seat filters; and flush emitters with fresh water for ~5 minutes. Top up the system water to the specified minimum depth.
Periodically open manual flush valves, check station splits (use the rotor/indexer if installed), and keep mulch depth adequate to prevent daylighting. Maintain the required “greywater in use” signage.
Never operate the dual interceptor without filters; seat risers fully; wash the sump before dropping in the pump; seal any drilled penetrations.
