GreyFlow™ | WF-UPS250 | 250L Underground Pump Station – 1500W Macerator
This compact, economical, and versatile underground pump station is built to handle all typical sanitary and household wastewater (toilet, bathroom, laundry and appropriate kitchen flows) for single dwellings and light-commercial applications. The 250L pump pit with integrated grinder pump and alarm provides generous storage, robust performance, and straightforward maintenance access in one factory-assembled unit.
Developed in Australia as a powerful underground all-wastewater macerator pump station, the GreyFlow™ Underground Pump Station range is designed for sites where gravity fall simply isn’t possible. Bringing together a heavy-duty poly tank, 1500W grinder pump, and high-level alarm into one compact package, it provides a robust solution for pumping combined blackwater and greywater from homes, units, small commercial tenancies, and remote amenities to a sewer, onsite treatment system, or pressure main.
GreyFlow™ Underground Pump Station – Macerator Range
The GreyFlow™ macerator pump station range is designed as a ready-to-install, plug-and-play package that simplifies specifying, installing, and servicing wastewater lifting systems compared with building a one-off pump pit from scratch.
Whether on a residential lot, a tight urban commercial site, or a remote off-grid facility, these units offer:
✓ A compact footprint with generous usable volume
✓ Robust macerator pumping for sanitary wastewater
✓ Clear, simple alarm indication for peace of mind
✓ Straightforward access for electricians, plumbers, and service technicians
As an All-Wastewater Pump Station for Homes
In many New Zealand homes and small dwellings, toilets, showers, laundries, or kitchen fixtures end up below the available sewer or treatment system inlet—for example in basements, under-slab bathrooms, detached sleepouts, cabins, or relocatable buildings.
The GreyFlow™ Underground Pump Station can be configured as a complete all-wastewater lifting station, collecting combined blackwater and greywater and pumping it via a small-diameter pressure line to:
- Council sewer (where consented)
- Septic tank or advanced onsite wastewater treatment plant
- A higher-level gravity drain, where fall is not otherwise available
The heavy-duty grinder pump macerates solids into a fine slurry, reducing blockage risk and allowing wastewater to be pumped through relatively small pressure mains over significant distances, subject to proper hydraulic design.
As a Pump Station for Light-Commercial & Multi-User Facilities
The same package is also suitable (subject to design) for light-commercial and multi-user sanitary facilities, including:
- Staff toilets, showers, and laundries in offices, workshops, and warehouses
- Amenities blocks in small commercial sites, gyms, and tourism operations
- Remote or stand-alone buildings where gravity connection to the main system is not feasible
Installed below ground, the system keeps critical components out of sight while the integrated controller and alarm provide clear indication of normal operation and high-level events. This makes it a practical option for sites where reliability, ease of service, and minimal visual impact are all important.
(Final suitability, loadings, and connection type must always be confirmed by the project designer/engineer to ensure compliance with local council and plumbing requirements.)
As a General Pump Pit for Challenging Sites
Beyond sanitary wastewater, the 320L pit and grinder pump can also be used as a general pump station for clear or lightly contaminated water where appropriate:
- As a lifting station for separate drainage or stormwater catchments where gravity fall is not available (and where such configurations are permitted by local regulations)
- As a shared pump chamber feeding a downstream grease trap and treatment system for approved kitchen and food-service applications
- As part of packaged solutions for remote ablution blocks, cabins, or modular buildings
Configurations should keep stormwater and sanitary wastewater systems separate where required by code and good practice.
Quick Overview of Features
✓ 250L heavy-duty polyethylene pump pit – suitable for below-ground installation; can also be configured in partially above-ground applications by design
✓ Powerful ~1500W grinder/macerator pump – designed to handle combined blackwater and greywater for dwellings and light-commercial sites (within design limits)
✓ 100mm DWV inlet – accepts standard building drainage connections
✓ 50mm discharge manifold with non-return (check) valve – for connection to rising main or pressure sewer line
✓ Integrated float control – automatic start/stop based on liquid level
✓ High-level alarm (optional) with visual indication and mute button – provides early warning if the pump cannot keep up with inflow
✓ Pedestrian-rated lid – tidy, low-profile cover at finished ground level; higher-duty cover options can be designed where required
✓ Domestic and light-commercial suitability – all-wastewater lifting from homes, units, small commercial tenancies, and remote amenities (subject to sizing and design)

Important Notes – Kitchen & Commercial Use
This pump station is suitable for handling typical sanitary and household wastewater, including toilet, bathroom, and laundry flows.
For commercial kitchens, high-grease food preparation areas, or heavy kitchen use, an appropriate grease trap or grease management system upstream of the pump station is strongly recommended and may be required by local regulations.
Always consult your wastewater designer, engineer, or local council to ensure the system configuration meets regional rules and site-specific consent conditions.
Select the buffering capacity (250L or 320L models) that suit your out-flow and discharge cycles
