    Nature Loo™ Maintenance Instructions

    Nature Loo™ Logo

Daily user interaction: After each solid deposit, add one scoop of bulking agent to the chamber (“scoop per poop”). The fan runs continuously in the background; no further daily action is required.

Weekly light clean: Wipe the seat, lid, and bowl with a compost-safe cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that can disrupt the biology. A quick check of the vent terminal and fan intake helps keep airflow steady.

Monthly routine: Look at the chamber surface. If a cone is forming under the drop point, gently level it so the top remains flat and porous; if the surface appears dense or matted, add a light sprinkle of dry bulking and mix the top few centimetres to reopen air paths (self-contained units via the chamber lid; split units via service access).

    Capacity management:

    • Self-contained models—replace or retire the active chamber when it’s about three-quarters full, and put a fresh one into service. Let the full chamber mature off-line in a warm, secure place.
    • Split systems—follow your model’s guidance for removal and curing. Only remove finished material as needed to maintain working capacity.

Regular checks: Ensure the fan is running 24/7, the vent path is unobstructed, and any drain/soakage line has clear fall. Address blockages promptly so the chamber stays breathable.

Annual service (technical): Clean the fan housing and vent, flush the drain/soakage line if fitted, inspect seals, and confirm the power supply is stable (particularly on solar). Replace the fan if performance or noise suggests wear.
