    Mid-sized grease management

    Passway™ | M-43E

A 64L Passway™ gravity grease separator for medium-use kitchens requiring accessible grease interception and routine servicing.

The M-43E uses controlled flow, internal baffles and gravity separation to reduce fats, oils, grease and retained solids travelling into downstream drainage or treatment systems.

    Product background

    Grease management for medium-use kitchens

The Passway™ M-43E provides more grease-storage capacity than the compact M-43F while retaining a relatively small physical footprint and straightforward service access.

Lower-density fats, oils and grease separate within the chamber while heavier material can settle. Internal baffles and the outlet arrangement help reduce direct carry-over into downstream pipework.

The outlet remains wastewater. The M-43E reduces FOG and retained solids but does not produce potable, purified or disinfected water.
    Best suited for

Medium kitchens and selected light-commercial sites

    • Higher-use domestic kitchens.
    • Staff kitchens and shared facilities.
    • Small commercial food-preparation areas.
    • Cafés and light food-service sites where the calculated loading suits the separator.
    • Sites requiring more FOG storage than a compact small-kitchen grease trap.
Final selection must be based on the actual connected fixtures, peak wastewater flow, grease loading, temperature, selected connection arrangement and service interval.

    Strong features

    Built for inspection and servicing

    • Air-intake feature supports intended hydraulic operation.
    • Sight-glass arrangement assists with checking retained FOG condition.
    • Cover locking levers provide secure closure and service access.
    • Rubber cover packing helps control leakage and nuisance odour.
    • Internal baffles reduce direct grease and sediment carry-over.
    • Removable components support routine cleaning and inspection.
The standard A15 / Class A cover is for pedestrian areas only and is not suitable for vehicle loading.
    Independent performance evidence

    Tested to BS EN 1825-1

The M-43E is supported by a Declaration of Performance and independent laboratory testing against BS EN 1825-1.

    Independent laboratory
    Danish Technological Institute.
    Tested nominal size
    NS0.2.
    Tested flow
0.2 litres per second under the BS EN 1825-1 test method.
    Tested pipe configuration
    50mm inlet and outlet.
    Separation test result
Arithmetic mean residual hydrocarbon concentration: 1.05mg/L under the prescribed laboratory test procedure.
The independent report notes that the tested 50mm inlet and outlet are smaller than the connection size recommended in the relevant BS EN 1825-1 table. Larger Passway™ connection configurations are available and should be identified accurately in the project documentation.
The laboratory result is controlled product-performance evidence and is not a guaranteed field discharge concentration or automatic trade-waste approval.
    New Zealand compliance

    Compact separator assessed on performance

The M-43E is smaller than the 100L minimum volume used by the prescriptive G13/AS2 grease-trap Acceptable Solution.

This does not prohibit its use in New Zealand. Where the prescriptive Acceptable Solution is not followed, the BS EN 1825-1 product-performance evidence can form part of a project-specific Alternative Solution together with appropriate sizing, plumbing, drainage, installation and maintenance information.

Building-consent, wastewater-network and trade-waste requirements must be checked for the proposed installation. The product is not represented as automatically approved for every kitchen.
