    Passway™ | M-43D

    A 140L Passway™ gravity grease separator for higher-demand kitchens and commercial grease-management applications.

    The M-43D uses solids interception, controlled flow, internal baffles and gravity separation to retain fats, oils, grease and food-related solids for routine removal before wastewater continues downstream.

    Product background

    Robust grease management for higher-load kitchens

    The Passway™ M-43D is the larger grease separator within the current WCTNZ® Passway™ range.

    Kitchen wastewater first passes through the inlet and food-solids interception components before entering the main separation chamber. Lower-density fats, oils and grease rise while heavier material can settle.

    Internal baffles and the outlet arrangement help reduce direct carry-over into downstream drainage, septic systems, pump stations, greywater equipment or wastewater treatment systems.

    The outlet remains wastewater. The M-43D reduces FOG and retained solids but does not produce potable, purified or disinfected water.

    The standard A15 / Class A cover is for pedestrian areas only. It must not be exposed to vehicle, forklift or other loads beyond its stated classification.

    The M-43D is supported by a Declaration of Performance and independent laboratory testing against BS EN 1825-1.

    Separation test result
    Arithmetic mean residual hydrocarbon concentration: 20.6mg/L under the prescribed laboratory test procedure.
    Test limit
    The report identifies a maximum of 25mg/L under the applicable BS EN 1825-1 test procedure.
    Laboratory testing is controlled product-performance evidence. Actual kitchen wastewater varies with flow, grease load, temperature, solids, detergents, installation and maintenance. The laboratory result is not a guaranteed field discharge concentration or automatic trade-waste approval.
    New Zealand compliance

    BS EN 1825 evidence with a New Zealand installation basis

    New Zealand G13/AS2 provides a prescriptive grease-trap Acceptable Solution based on physical sizing and installation requirements. The M-43D has a total volume above the general 100L minimum, but final G13/AS2 applicability still depends on the connected fixtures, use and complete installation.

    Where the proposed design differs from the Acceptable Solution, the independent BS EN 1825-1 evidence may support a Building Code Alternative Solution together with appropriate sizing, plumbing, drainage, installation and maintenance information.

    Current G13/AS3 references AS/NZS 3500.2:2021 for sanitary plumbing and drainage where that compliance route applies.

    Commercial premises may also require separate wastewater-network or trade-waste approval. Product testing does not automatically approve the discharge from a particular commercial kitchen.
    Installation and maintenance

    Designed for routine servicing

    Install the M-43D with reliable access for complete cover removal, internal inspection, basket cleaning and grease removal.

    Correct base preparation, pipe support, alignment, drainage fall and clean-water commissioning are important for predictable operation.

    Inspect the separator early after commissioning so the ongoing service interval can be established from the actual grease and solids accumulation at the site.

    This product is intended for fats and oils associated with kitchen and food wastewater. It is not a petrol, diesel, motor-oil or light-mineral-liquid separator.
