Sun-Mar™ | Centrex 3000 NE (Non Electric) - M/F Micro Flush
The Centrex 3000 NE M/F is a high-capacity, low-voltage off-grid composter designed for use with a micro flush pedestal. It suits medium to heavy seasonal use and medium residential use where underfloor installation is possible and mains power is limited or unavailable.
Featuring Sun-Mar’s™ patented Bio-drum™ technology, the Centrex is a true composting system that processes compost in two stages within the unit itself. The Centrex 3000 NE utilises a continuous-flow design for very heavy cottage or medium residential use, with the longer 3000-series drum moving compost along its length before it drops automatically into the collection housing.
With a larger compost capacity than the Centrex 2000 NE M/F model, the 3000 can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people in a holiday-house situation. In a residential capacity, the compost needs to be emptied more frequently and is suitable for up to 4 people.
Capacity and Best Fit
- Holiday / seasonal use: up to 6 people
- Residential use: up to 4 people
- Best suited to: underfloor micro flush installations in off-grid or low-power environments
Capacity note: Listed capacities refer to the number of people, on average, using the unit per day. Do not pick a unit that is below your real use case.
How this system works
The Centrex 3000 NE M/F is the non-electric version of the Centrex 3000 fitted with a 4" vent stack and designed for use with a micro flush pedestal. Installation of a 12V fan is optional, but it is recommended for heavy seasonal or residential use, for sites especially subject to downdraft, or where bends are needed in the vent stack.
All Centrex 3000 series units are supplied with a 1" drain hose which should be connected to the 1" drain at the bottom left of the unit. Because there is no heating unit in this model, it will operate well on solar or mains-supported low-voltage arrangements, but evaporation is not as effective as in the 240-volt version, so an overflow drain to a small subsurface gravel pit is required.
A 100mm vent and low-voltage fan help to ensure that odours are dispelled with minimal electrical draw.
