Featuring Sun-Mar's™ patented Bio-drum™ technology, the Excel is a true composting system that processes the compost in two stages within the unit itself.

Because the Excel NE model requires no fan or heater, it is perfect for those who have no access to 240vAC power, or even a 12-volt power supply. The clever design utilizes a diffusor at the top of the unit which draws away any odour from the toilet in much the same way that a chimney draws smoke from a fire.
The systems pipe should be installed in a straight vertical line in order to optimize airflow and sit at least 600 - 1000mm above the roof.
If the toilet is to be used full time in a home, if there are bends in the pipe, or if the location of the toilet is especially predisposed to downdrafts, it is recommended that an optional 12v, 1.9watt fan be installed to help optimize performance and reduce the likelihood of any odour. If required, this 12v fan can easily be powered through a simple solar set-up. Waterless Composting Toilets NZ offers cost-effective solar solutions to complement this model if required.
As this system has no heating pads, the included drainpipe must be installed to help the system cope with any excess moisture build-up in the chamber and ensure that the unit is still able to function at its optimum level.

THERE IS ONLY ONE PERFORMANCE STANDARD FOR COMPOSTING TOILETS IN NORTH AMERICA. THIS IS NATIONAL SANITATION FOUNDATION NSF/ANSI STANDARD #41. 

Sun-Mar is certified by the NSF under this stringent standard. Testing is conducted for 6 months at an NSF recognized, independent testing laboratory under a strict test protocol. 

To be certified, the unit must operate odor-free at maximum capacity (including overload conditions) and produce clean, safe compost.
