WCT | Nova Mix 40

Nova Mix 40 is a purpose-made bulking agent designed for use with the Bionova Cabin and Bionova Cabin Plus self-contained composting toilets. A good bulking agent is a core part of stable composting because it balances moisture, keeps the material “open” so it can breathe, and supports the biological process that breaks waste down over time.

How to use: Follow your Bionova manual for starter bed depth and top-up frequency. Increase or decrease additions to suit occupancy and seasonal moisture. If the compost ever looks too wet, increase bulking addition and check your venting is clear.

HOW TO USE

For initial setup: Prepare the starter bed in accordance with the Bionova Cabin Series User Manual, using Nova Mix 40 as your base bulking material.

For ongoing use: Add a small amount of Nova Mix 40 after solid deposits to keep the composting mass carbon‑rich and able to breathe. If your site has periods of heavier use (for example weekends or school holidays), you may need to top up more often. If the material ever looks too wet, increase bulking addition and check your venting is clear.
