WCTNZ® | Vertical Vent Rain Cowl 100
A WCTNZ® 100mm fan-forced vent rain cowl designed to direct exhaust vertically while helping shield the vent opening from rain and debris.
The open-top outer cowl fits over a 100mm DWV vent pipe and is designed for compatible active ventilation systems where continuous upward fan-forced airflow is present.

How it works
An open rain shield around the active vent pipe
The Vertical Vent Rain Cowl 100 is not a conventional capped vent cowl. It is a long, open-ended outer tube that surrounds the smaller 100mm DWV vent pipe.
The larger 150mm-diameter outer cowl helps shield the inner vent opening from wind-driven rain travelling across the vent stack, while the top remains fully open so fan-forced exhaust can discharge vertically.
Where rain falls more directly toward the open top, the upward airflow generated by the connected ventilation fan forms part of the rain-cowl operating principle.
Active ventilation
Designed to operate with a fan-forced vent system
Important: the WCTNZ® Vertical Vent Rain Cowl 100 is designed for use with a compatible active, fan-forced ventilation system. It is not intended as a passive vent termination.
The connected ventilation fan provides the upward air movement required by the cowl design. Correct fan operation, vent sizing and vent routing therefore remain important to ventilation performance and rain management.

The Vertical Vent Rain Cowl 100 is a general ventilation component and is not limited to composting-toilet systems.

Installation
Fits over the exterior vent stack
The cowl is positioned over the top of the compatible 100mm PVC vent stack and secured in accordance with the supplied WCTNZ® installation instructions.
Final vent height, location, support and routing must suit the connected ventilation system, building layout and local wind conditions.
WCTNZ® ventilation guidance: correct fan selection, vent sizing, vent routing and vent termination are important to reliable airflow and exhaust performance. The Vertical Vent Rain Cowl should be used as part of a correctly configured active ventilation system.
