Sun-Mar™ | Centrex 2000 - A/F (Air Flow) 240
Perfect for medium to heavy seasonal or light residential use, the Centrex 2000 A/F 240 gives you a longer composting cycle and a larger compost volume than smaller systems, while using a straight-fall waterless pedestal arrangement.
Featuring Sun-Mar’s™ patented Bio-drum™ technology, the Centrex is a true composting system that processes compost in two stages within the unit itself. While not as large as the Centrex 3000, the Centrex 2000 model still comfortably accommodates a seven-person holiday-house usage and is designed for stronger seasonal demand than smaller systems.
When used seasonally by up to 7–9 adults, compost will normally only need removal annually each spring. When used residentially by up to 4 adults, some compost will need to be emptied into the finishing drawer once every few months.
Capacity and Best Fit
- Holiday / seasonal use: up to 7–9 adults
- Residential use: up to 4 adults
- Best suited to: underfloor waterless installations where reliable 240V power is available
Capacity note: Listed capacities refer to the number of people, on average, using the unit per day. Do not pick a unit that is below your real use case.
How this system works
The Centrex 2000 A/F works on a mixing design to maximise capacity and improve the composting process. Rotation of the BioDrum blends the compost inside the Centrex 2000 until counter rotation is required to empty with the auto-drop mechanism, which lets the compost fall into the collection tray.
The Centrex 2000 A/F is the waterless version of the Centrex range. In the A/F (Air Flow) model, waste falls under gravity into the drum of the composter. Multiple toilets are not possible with the A/F model because a straight fall is required.
The Centrex 2000 A/F features a 370-watt thermostatically controlled heater in a sealed compartment under the unit and the standard Sun-Mar 30-watt turbofan to supply oxygen to the pile, with a 2" vent stack to remove evaporating liquid and eliminate odours. The increased surface area in the evaporating chamber, coupled with the larger heating element, also provides better evaporation on electric units.
The Centrex 2000 A/F is supplied with a 1" drain hose which should be connected to the 1" drain at the bottom of the unit. This drain hose ensures any excess liquids are removed to a small subsurface gravel absorption trench.
Fixture note: The Sun-Mar Centrex AirFlow Systems come with Sun-Mar™ Dry Toilet Elongated Pedestal or Premium Pedestal - The Polymarble options only.
