Sun-Mar™ | Centrex 2000 NE (Non Electric) - M/F (Micro Flush)
Perfect for medium to heavy seasonal or light residential use, the Centrex 2000 NE M/F allows for both a longer composting cycle and a larger compost waste volume than smaller systems, while giving you the more familiar experience of a micro flush pedestal.
Featuring Sun-Mar’s™ patented Bio-drum™ technology, the Centrex is a true composting system that processes compost in two stages within the unit itself. Whilst not as large as the Centrex 3000, the Centrex 2000 NE M/F still comfortably accommodates a seven-person holiday-house usage, requiring only one compost removal annually. In a residential capacity, the compost will need to be dealt with more frequently.
When used seasonally by up to 7–9 adults, compost will normally only need removal annually each spring. In residential use, compost will have to be extracted more frequently.
Capacity and Best Fit
- Holiday / seasonal use: up to 7–9 adults
- Residential use: light residential use with more frequent compost extraction
- Best suited to: off-grid baches, cabins, and underfloor micro flush installations where low-voltage support is preferred
Capacity note: Listed capacities refer to the number of people, on average, using the unit per day. Do not pick a unit that is below your real use case.
How this system works
The Centrex 2000 NE M/F is the non-electric version of the Centrex 2000, fitted with a 4" vent stack and designed for use with a micro flush pedestal. Waste is transferred into the underfloor chamber by the pedestal rather than by straight gravity drop, which gives the M/F system more flexibility than the A/F version in layout and bathroom feel.
Installation of a 12V fan is optional, but it is recommended for heavy seasonal use, residential use, sites prone to downdraft, or where bends are needed in the vent stack. A 100mm vent and low-voltage fan help to ensure that odours are dispelled with minimal electrical draw.
The Centrex 2000 is supplied with a 1" drain hose which should be connected to the 1" drain at the bottom of the unit. Because this is a non-electric model, evaporation is not as effective as in the 240-volt version, so overflow drainage remains important.
