What’s Not Covered (Warranty Exclusions)
The following items are not covered by warranty:
Damage from improper installation, misuse, or alterations
Faults due to external power supply incompatibility, including off-grid inverter issues ⚠️ See our Electrical Safety and Usage Disclaimer for full details
Normal wear and tear or consumables
Labour charges and parts for issues found unrelated to manufacturing defects
Labour charges for issues found within the warranty period
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Notify WCTNZ® via warranty@wctnz.co.nz and provide the following information:
1. SO number of the unit (this may be located on the back of your unit) 2. SN number (this may be located on the back of your unit) 3. WCTNZ® order number 4. Your current contact details 5. Description of the fault 6. Photographs* of the fault 7. Photographs* of the entire installation: inside, outside, underfloor (for split systems), vent stack, drain, and any other connections
Please provide all photographs in low-quality images.
If some of this information is not available to you, please notify us as soon as possible.
Please note that any delay in the provision of information can delay the claims process and exacerbate the problem with your system.
How to return for Testing & Repair Service
Notify WCTNZ® via warranty@wctnz.co.nz and provide the following information:
Photo/evidence requirements of the parts - of the whole system installation - any electrical system connected with the system
Return Authorisation (RA) process
Testing charges will apply when no fault is found (linked to Testing & Repair Service Policy)
Freight responsibilities are borne by the customer at all times
WCTNZ® is to furnish new parts to a customer whose product fails within the allotted warranty period for the particular component, provided that our inspection shows that such failure is due to defective material or workmanship.
Any part supplied is warranted for the balance of the original warranty period based on the respective manufacturer’s warranty.
All support information for warranty claims is to be supplied by the customer to WCTNZ® within 21 days of alerting WCTNZ® to the fault. This includes SO and SN numbers from the unit, WCTNZ® order number, a description of the fault, photographs of the fault, and any other relevant information WCTNZ® requests.
The warranty period for a part begins from the date the original product was dispatched (plus 5 additional days for transportation).
All faulty parts are to be returned to WCTNZ®; shipping of these is the customer's responsibility.
If a warranty replacement part is sent out and the original part is proven not to be faulty, the customer will be charged for the replacement part.
Replacement Parts Availability
WCTNZ® endeavours to hold replacement parts in stock to the best of our ability. If replacement parts are not available at the time of a warranty claim, the customer is responsible for covering all logistics costs from the point of origin.

Stainless steel reactor / housing—3 years

*Covered for 1 year against manufacturing defects; performance degradation from normal use is not a defect.

Water quality required (or warranty is void)
Iron < 0.3 ppm (0.3 mg/L)
Hardness < 7 gpg (≈120 mg/L as CaCO₃) (soften if >7 gpg)
Turbidity < 1 NTU
Manganese < 0.05 ppm (0.05 mg/L)
Tannins < 0.1 ppm (0.1 mg/L)
UVT > 75% (contact factory if <75%)
Key exclusions & conditions
No coverage if unit is altered or repaired by anyone not authorised by the warrantor, or misused/neglected/accident-damaged.
Do not remove labels—warranty is void if original labels are removed.
Warranty applies only to the original consumer and original installation.
WCTNZ® products come with a Manufacturer's Limited Warranty, as required by the Building Act 2004. Limited Warranty covers only certain parts or defects with specific limitations. WCTNZ® is there to assist you in the claims process, but all final decisions are at the manufacturer's discretion. Warranty periods and conditions per manufacturer are laid out above.
Below terms apply to all brands that do not have unique terms and conditions
These warranties do not cover:
Damage resulting from neglect, abuse, accident or alteration; or damage caused by fire, flood, acts of god or other causality
Damage resulting from failure of the purchaser to follow normal installation and operating procedures outlined in the manual or in any other printed instructions supplied with the system
Labour and service charges incurred in the removal and replacement of any parts found defective under this warranty
Cost of delivery of replacement parts
Full Definitions of Warranty
Subject to clause 18(c), all goods supplied are covered by such warranty as is specified by the manufacturer and supplied subject to the product standards detailed by the manufacturer.
The Buyer shall immediately notify the Seller in writing upon discovery of any defect in the goods. The Buyer shall not carry out any remedial work to alleged defective goods without first obtaining the written consent of the Seller.
The only conditions and warranties which are binding on the Seller in respect of the state, quality of the goods supplied by it to the Buyer are those imposed and required to be binding by statute (including the Trade Practices Act 1974) and to the extent permitted thereby, the liability, if any, of the Seller arising from the breach of such conditions or warranties, shall at the Seller's option be limited to and completely discharged by:
replacement of the goods with equivalent goods; or
the repair of goods; or
the payment of the cost of replacement of the goods; or
the payment of the cost of repair of the goods provided that in all such cases any freight costs and costs of dismantling and re-assembly shall be borne by the Purchaser. All other conditions and warranties whether expressed or implied by law or otherwise in respect of the state, quality or condition of the goods which may apart from this clause be binding upon the Seller are hereby expressly excluded and negated
The Buyer expressly acknowledges and agrees that it has not relied upon and the Seller is not liable for any advice given by the Seller, its agents or employees in relation to the suitability for any purpose of goods or materials supplied by the Seller.
Liability of Seller
Except as expressly provided herein and to the extent permitted by law:
the Seller shall not be under any liability, whether in contract, tort or otherwise in respect of defects in goods delivered or for any injury, damage or loss resulting from such defects or from any work done in connection therewith except to the extent that any statute applicable to these Terms and Conditions expressly prevents the exclusions, restriction or modification of such terms and conditions
the Seller shall not be liable to the Buyer for any loss of profit whatsoever arising nor shall the Seller be under any liability whether, in contract, tort or otherwise nor for any injury, damage or loss whether consequential or otherwise save as is expressly provided in these Terms and Conditions;
the Buyer indemnifies the Seller against any liability to or action by a third party in respect of goods manufactured to the Buyer's specification;
all goods are supplied in accordance with usual industry standards and the Seller shall not be liable to the Buyer for the condition or quality of goods which comply with these standards.
Alteration to Conditions
The Seller may at any time alter these Terms and Conditions at the point of Quotation or Sale.
