Aqua Clarus Maintenance Instructions

A good handover leaves you knowing how the system works and who to call.

Your installer and trained service personnel prepare Aqua Clarus for first use, check the connected equipment and show the nominated operator the controls. Start reuse when the required checks are complete and the handover record confirms it is ready.

Five things to cover at handover

Understand the connections

Know which fixtures provide greywater, which outlets receive treated water and where return flow, overflow and service water go. Keep the equipment details with the installation drawing.

Let the technician establish treatment

The technician starts the treatment stages, checks the pumps and levels and allows the biological process to establish. For the M800sx, follow its startup instructions and planned startup-discharge arrangement; elapsed time alone does not confirm readiness.

Learn the controls and fault response

Ask the team to demonstrate alarms, safe stopping and backup water. Checks include external storage and the separate pressure pump, along with any required water-quality testing.

Book the ongoing care

Record who carries out routine checks, who services the equipment and when the next visits are due. Make sure the operator knows the tasks they are authorised to undertake.

Keep the handover file

Keep the manuals, WCTNZ supplement, drawings, approvals, test results, normal readings, warranty and proof of supply together. Include confirmation of the uses allowed at handover and any restrictions.

Everyday operation

Help the treatment process work consistently

Use the connected fixtures as agreed and keep unsuitable waste out of them. Tell the service provider before a significant change in occupancy, laundry use, cleaning products or equipment. Leave the electrical supply in its required operating state rather than routinely switching treatment off.

Follow the check routine shown at handover and report unusual levels, leaks, smells or loss of pressure. Keep service access clear and the operating instructions easy to find.

Time away

Plan for quieter periods

For a normal M800sx absence longer than one week, use the holiday-mode switch. It circulates water intermittently to support the biological bed and control odour. Leave the required power on, follow the unit instructions and switch holiday mode off when you return, checking for normal indications.

Larger or differently controlled systems follow their own low-use instructions. A full shutdown, dried components, flooding or chemical incident is different from holiday mode. Contact your service provider for the checks needed before returning water to reuse.

Use the instructions supplied with your equipment

The WCTNZ supplement sits alongside the manufacturer’s manuals and the site operating plan. Use those documents for filling levels, valves, controller settings and detailed procedures. Ask the manufacturer and designer to resolve conflicting instructions before the affected work starts.

The Troubleshooting Guide explains initial actions when something changes. For an active fault, contact the service provider listed at handover.

Plan for water that cannot be reused. Startup and faults need an accepted wastewater arrangement. Where no sewer is available, an appropriate alternative must be provided; do not assume a leach drain is suitable.
