Break down biodegradable material

Greywater recirculates through a trickle-bed bioreactor. The biological process breaks down biodegradable material before the water moves through filtration and disinfection.

Looking after the source water helps protect this stage. Keep concentrated cleaning chemicals and other unsuitable waste out of the connected fixtures, and follow the household-use advice provided at handover.

Add a physical membrane barrier

The treatment arrangement includes 0.03 µm membrane filtration. Water passes through the membrane after biological processing, providing physical separation before UV disinfection.

Unlike biological breakdown, this separation does not rely on living microorganisms remaining active. The membrane therefore adds a different treatment barrier when household conditions or biological performance vary.

Disinfect the filtered water

After ultrafiltration, the water passes through a UV unit and enters the internal treated-water tank ready for pumped discharge. UV provides a separate disinfection step after the physical filtration barrier.

Any external storage tank and reuse pipework also need a care plan so the water remains suitable as it is stored and delivered.

Protect the whole treatment process

The membrane and UV stages give the M800sx treatment mechanisms beyond biology. They complement the biological stage, rather than making it unaffected by chemical shock or unusual loading.

An alarm, suspected chemical upset, prolonged outage or extended absence needs the checks described in the system instructions. Contact the service provider before resuming reuse where treatment has been affected.

AU Level 1 target with tertiary UF and UV

The M800sx is presented with an AU Level 1 greywater-quality target: BOD below 10 mg/L, suspended solids below 10 mg/L and E. coli below 1 cfu/100 mL.
